Projects
Welcome to my digital portfolio! Here are some works I have created recently that I am super proud of!
About: This was a brand campaign that my senior capstone group, Mirage, created throughout the duration of our senior spring semester at JMU. We conducted primary and secondary research through the IRB. Our long nights spent in the library and the basement of Harrison Hall paid off, as we placed in the top 3 out of 10 creative advertising capstone groups. This final was presented to past JMU SMAD Alumni and professors.
Objective: Create a campaign with assigned brand throughout the semester.
Target Audience: Female identifying college students.
Deliverables: 3 Print ads, TV Commercial, social media posts for 2 different outlets, 2 OOH, viral video, 2 Guerilla Marketing, and a branded product placement. All combined into a 10 minute campaign presentation.
Contributors: Megan Golinksy, Jane Gerrard, Adrianna Rippon, and Evan Diehl.

so cool to incorporate two of my favorite things + my friends!
Event Poster

Objective: Create two cohesive posters for an event on JMU's campus.
Target Audience: JMU students
Deliverables: Vector poster and a raster poster created on Adobe Illustrator.
Creative Rationale: Create visually appealing posters that align with the dance program and the spring concert of 2023. I wanted something that felt like it had movement and vibrancy.
Media Rationale: These were printed and posted around Forbes and JMU's campus. The raster poster (the bottom right) was posted on JMU's Dance Theatre's Instagram and Facebook to promote for the shows.
Company Spotlight
hey thats mine!

Objective: Create a large-scale poster showcasing a company affiliated with SMAD to be displayed in the SMAD hallway.
Target Audience: SMAD students/ faculty
Deliverables: WithSimplicity poster created on InDesign
Creative Rationale: Create eye catching posters that people will want to engage with. Have the company slogan on the side and logo at the top. Include a graphic of the state the company is located in to show geographical area. Have multiple visuals to showcase the companies products/ companies they work with.
so cool to see my work hung up in my favorite place (harrison hall)!
Digital Interactive Ads

sketches to create inspo!
finals + mockups!

Objective: Create social media posts for a local non profit organization (Blue Ridge Foster Love)
Target Audience: Women 35-44
Deliverables: Instagram stories, carousel posts, filter and reel as well as Facebook stories and posts.
Creative Rationale: Wanted to create visuals that aligned with the companies preexisting aesthetic. We also wanted to make it holiday themed but not directly Christmas themed. We created consistent graphics that were recognizable as being one campaign. In regards to captions and copy, we wanted few words and more visuals and always have a clear call to action within the caption of the post.
Media Rationale: For Facebook, we created posts with more words than Instagram, as Facebook tends to be more copy based. For Instagram, we took advantage of the elements that the media offers as well as created content with less words and more visuals. We chose Instagram and Facebook because our target audience engages with those platforms the most and thats where our clients had accounts as well.
Contributors: Jane Gerrard and Megan Golinsky
fun fact: BRFL chose our campaign as their annual holiday campaign!
First Year Friday Campaign
Objective: Create Instagram stories to highlight first years within the JMU Dance Program. Post these every Friday within the first few weeks of the fall 2023 semester.
Target Audience: JMU dancers/ alumni
Deliverables: Cover story, headshot with name, and dance photo with facts.
Creative Rationale: Create a fun/ colorful template that creates dimension with the photos of the dancers. Easy to read font and limited words to not lose audience engagement.
Media Rationale: I created a poll for the dancers within Dance Theatre on which they would prefer; an actual Instagram post or story, and many preferred an Instagram story. This was to keep the audience interested and more likely to see it as well.

so cool to be able to work on this project with and for my closest friends!
Senior Dance Spotlight
Objective: Create Instagram Stories to spotlight the JMU Senior Dance Class of 2024. Post 4 spotlights a day leading up to opening night of the concert.
Target Audience: JMU dancers, friends and family, and alumni.
Deliverables: Introduction story, spotlight story with headshot and facts, end story with title of show and a countdown till opening night.
Creative Rationale: Wanted to create visually appealing posts while relating it to our show concept.
I was compelled to take a different and more personal approach to the design of the stories. I used dotted lines to allude to our final song in the show "You're Gonna Go Far". Everyone in the JMU Dance class of 2024 was in that final piece, so I knew I wanted to take inspiration from that specific song.
Media Rationale: I used Instagram stories because of the convenience. This was to keep the target audience interested throughout the week, and it acted as a countdown till opening night. It allowed the seniors to repost to their own stories, which resulted more engagement.
countdown till opening night!
